The Creatable is first and foremost a coffee table. A coffee table with a touch screen, gas shocks, and an aluminum frame. The idea of creating a table fit for LAVA began summer of 2014. Engineering student, Noel Kawano, began development of the CreaTable using an 80/20 framing system. The same 80/20 materials will be used in the creation of the new CyberCANOE system. The aluminum extrusions were virtually constructed in the AutoCAD development environment to fit a 50 inch 4K display. Overlaying the display is an infrared touch sensor by PQ Labs capable of over 50 registered points at a 4K resolution. Patrons may choose to tilt the display using the gas shocks to better suit the userís needs. Construction and completion of the CreaTable ended fall 2014 and it is now housed in LAVAís new lab in Keller 102.
